Maniac Magee is a young adult novel written by Jerry Spinelli. It was published in 1990 and has won numerous awards, including the Newbery Medal. The story follows the life of Jeffrey Lionel "Maniac" Magee, a homeless orphan who becomes a legend in the racially divided town of Two Mills, Pennsylvania. In 2003 a movie adaptation was made for the Nickelodeon network.
