Moby Dick is a film adaptation of the novel of the same name by Herman Melville. It was directed by John Huston and released in 1956. The film stars Gregory Peck as Captain Ahab, the obsessed and vengeful captain of the whaling ship Pequod, and Richard Basehart as Ishmael, the narrator of the story.
Futura ExtraBold, a geometric sans-serif typeface created in 1927 by Paul Renner, is most likely the font used for the Moby Dick title in the poster. Futura is a widely popular typeface family that is used in logos and advertisements, most notably by IKEA (up until 2010), supreme, party city, Volkswagen, Royal Dutch, Shell, and HP in their print advertisements.
