Ramones was an American punk rock band formed in New York City in 1974. The band is credited with helping define punk rock and inspiring many other bands in the genre.
Arturo Vega designed the Ramones' first logo, which appears on the back sleeve of their debut album. Vega designed the logo based on the Presidential Seal to portray “An All-American Band." The band name “Ramones” is written in block capitals letters using Franklin Gothic typeface above the logo. The circular border includes the names of the four band members, depending on the band's lineup. To replicate them, Times New Roman, Berling, etc. can be used.
